Note: Under Government Code Section 34090, city department heads (with approval from the city council and city attorney) can destroy public records—including meeting agendas and full agenda packets—after two years.  While agendas and supporting reports can be destroyed after two years, the official meeting minutes, ordinances, and resolutions are considered permanent legal records and cannot be destroyed under Government Code Section 34090(e).
