Media Release & Waiver of Liability

When you attend an event hosted by or featuring the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments (SGVCOG) you enter an area where photography, audio, and video recording may occur.

How We Use Event Media

By participating in our events, you grant SGVCOG and their authorized representatives permission to:

• Capture Media: Take photos, video, and audio recordings of event proceedings and attendees.

• Publish & Share: Edit and share these materials across print publications, official websites, social media channels (such as but not limited to: Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and Instagram), news outlets, and digital communications.

• Promote Community Work: Use these assets for public reporting, educational outreach, regional promotion, and marketing for future public forums and events.

General Terms

• Ownership: All photographs, video footage, and audio recordings remain the property of SGVCOG

• Compensation & Approval: Media is gathered for public transparency and agency communication; no compensation is provided, and there is no expectation of preview or approval rights.

• Minors: Parents or legal guardians attending with minors acknowledge that these same media terms apply to accompanied youth.

 

Prefer Not to Be Photographed?

We respect your privacy. If you prefer not to be included in photos or recordings during an event, simply notify an SGVCOG staff member at the check-in desk upon arrival, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
