The Southern California Regional Energy Network (SoCalREN) Public Agency Programs offer customized support and resources to help public agencies save energy and money and lead their communities on the pathway to zero net energy and greater sustainability. The SGVCOG is proud to partner with SoCalREN to bring their services to the San Gabriel Valley.

The SGVCOG is leveraging local knowledge and strong relationships with public agencies in the San Gabriel Valley region to bring SoCalREN’s no-cost support on energy, demand, and water-saving projects to the San Gabriel Valley communities. Together, we will ensure SoCalREN’s highly valued programs are accessible for public agencies, especially those supporting underserved and hard-to-reach communities, in the San Gabriel Valley.

SoCalREN's Public Agency Programs include:

Guides public agencies from start to finish through energy efficiency projects. Services include audit and technical services, financing support, simplified procurement, and incentive application support.

A new way to access SoCalREN’s Project Delivery Program support services, this program uses normalized metered energy consumption (NMEC) to measure energy savings at the meter.

Provides short-term up-front construction financing for small to midsize projects at 0% interest. Can be used to bridge the delay between construction and On-Bill Financing (OBF) or other sources of funds not immediately available.

Offered with SoCalREN’s energy efficiency program. Provides a comprehensive view of energy opportunities, including energy efficiency and distributed energy resources, for facilities serving disadvantaged communities.

Authorized in 2012 by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), the SoCalREN provides services to residents, businesses, and public agencies throughout the areas served by Southern California Edison (SCE) and/or SoCalGas®. SoCalREN also offers programs for residents and businesses which public agencies can leverage for the benefit of their communities.

The SoCalREN Public Agency Programs are administered by the County of Los Angeles and funded by California utility ratepayers under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission.
