1st Vice President, San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments

SGVCOG 1st Vice President Becky A. Shevlin has been serving on the Monrovia City Council since 2009. She previously served as Mayor Pro Tem from May 2013  through April 2015, and May 2018 through April 2019. Vice President Shevlin has called Monrovia home since 1988. She served on the Monrovia Community Services Commission 11 years, chairing the Commission for three years and working on various subcommittees, including Art in Public Places, Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Station Design Art Review Committee and Hillside Wilderness Preserve.

Vice President Shevlin has been on the Coordinating Council for approximately 20 years and served in all the  executive positions. She has served on the Monrovia Reads and the Chamber of Commerce Boards of Directors and is a past president of the Foothill Unity Center Auxiliary. She also serves as the Monrovia City Council's liaison to the Library Board and delegate to Healing Connections, San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments, Southern California Association of Governments, Foothill Transit, and San Gabriel Valley Mosquito & Vector Control District.  She serves as alternate to the Monrovia Public Library Foundation, YES Program, Community Media of the Foothills, Chamber of Commerce Board & Government Affairs Committee, League of California Cities - Los Angeles Division, Foothill Workforce Investment Board, and Sanitation Districts 15 and 22 of Los Angeles County. Vice President Shevlin also participates in the Monroe, Wild Rose, and Plymouth Elementary Schools and Clifton Middle School Adopt-a-School Program.
