2021 American Rescue Plan & City Improvements Webinar

THURSDAY, JUNE 10, 2021 at 11:00 AM

Funding for cities' economic recovery is coming - but how will we use it? As we slowly recover from the COVID-19 Pandemic, what types of outdoor and downtown improvements would cities keep?

In partnership with the San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership (SGVEP), the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments (SGVCOG) hosted the American Rescue Plan (ARP) and City Improvements Webinar to invite several cities to discuss their plans for utilizing ARP funds to support fiscal recovery efforts. The ARP provided $26 billion in fiscal relief funding to the State of California and approximately $16 billion in fiscal relief funding to our local governments.

Additionally, this webinar showcased downtown and neighborhood improvement programs, such as the "permanent or not?" outdoor dining districts and the "Slow Streets" effort to provide outdoor recreation. Speakers also shared their cities’ plans to remove such improvements or allow the improvements to remain in place after the pandemic.
