The San Gabriel Valley is a geographic area approximately 374 square mile and serves as the eastern gateway to Los Angeles and Southern California.  The San Gabriel Valley is home to more than 2 million California residents living in 31 incorporated cities and many unincorporated communities. 

The San Gabriel Valley, founded in 1704, is the birthplace of Southern California.  It is our goal at the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments to honor the past while we build for a better tomorrow.  I welcome you to explore this website and learn about the San Gabriel Valley and its Council of Governments.

NEW!!!!! - REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS - FINANCIAL AUDIT SERVICES

The SGVCOG is currently seeking a qualified certified public accountant or firm to audit the financial statements of this Agency and our component unit, the Alameda Corridor East (ACE) Construction Authority, and provide other audit and consulting services as needed.

The audit contract is for a five year period beginning January 1st, 2009 through the fiscal year ending June 30, 2013. The firm or individual applying should have significant experience (5 years plus) related to government accounting. All responses to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) are due to the SGVCOG offices by 5 pm on January 7th, 2009.  Click here for a copy of the RFQ.    

HOMELESS SERVICES STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT

The San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments seeks the participation of elected officials, city staff members, service providers, community and faith-based organizations, and interested community stakeholders in the development of a regional homeless services strategy.

Region-Wide Kick Off Event
This event was held on Monday, December 8th in Rosemead.  More than 60 individuals representing cities, LA County, and community service providers gathered to review the Phase I Needs Assessment findings, and discuss best practices and setting priorities for Phase II.
